Lie an Alibi

Got a call from an old friend of mine
and he asked me how we we're getting along..
I said that 'we had our problems..but
we'd be ok.."
Well it turns out he happened to see you
last night.. and you were not with your friends
like you told me you were..
before I go on do you have something to say??

But don't lie and alibi,,don't even try to
lie an alibi now..

So your telling me your friends they never showed..
but instead you 'bumped into a guy'..
he was 'simply an old friend'
that you knew from 'school'..
That story doesn't quite match with the one I heard..
candle light kisses and champagne..
girl are you trying to take me for some kind of fool??
cause I'm not!!

Don't lie and alibi,,don't even try to

I'd rather you just be truthful..be honest now..
If you'd rather be with that guy I don't care!!
just don't stand there and look me in the eye..
and try to lie an alibi..

You no longer have words to defend yourself..
I guess the moment of truth is at hand.
Girl we're both better off so lets just let it go..

I don't need your apologies anymore..
don't need to hear you say that you love me still..
were you ever sincere??..I guess that I'll never know..
